When Lily started Tang Soo Do, other than Liam the instructor and teacher, she knew nobody in this newly established class. Nerves obviously were high and she was quiet. Very quickly, trust in her instructors, the Masters and other students started to blossom. She brought her friend to join with her and then other children joined as the group grew.

Not long after along came a few girls to join them and a friendship group started to develop. They started a group chat with them and then a “Tang Girls Group” (no offense boys. But no boys allowed!) which they have used for over a year to motivate, encourage and keep each other going. They laugh and they support each other. They challenge each other and love each other. Between Gradings and Comps these girls have become the most unlikely of friends, something that wouldn’t have blossomed without Tang Soo Do.

I want to clarify, the boys are just as important to these girls but there has to be something said about the strong force that these girls are all teaching each other to be. Their friendship also expands beyond their training and Whatsapp group, they have Tang Girls sleepovers and are always planning their next venture out together.

Without Tang Soo Do, these girls would never have met to become so close so Thank you Tang Soo Do Denby Dale for not only doing your job in training these young people but also encouraging friendships to last them a lifetime no matter what directions their sport and life takes them.
